Katie Abbott, MHA, FACHE

Katie Abbott is a certified health coach and an innovative leader with a personal commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. She is the Founder of The Bold Collaborative, a holistic leadership and wellness coaching business focused on helping people live healthy, empowered lives so they can achieve what matters most to them. 


Katie also works as an independent consultant leading strategic planning and operational effectiveness work for large companies in the healthcare industry. In her previous role as Stanford Health Care’s Director of Cancer Networks, she directed and led strategic growth, system integration and operations management in support of the Cancer Network’s expansion. Katie played a key role in the design and operations of Stanford’s newest Cancer Center, which has been internationally recognized as the “Cancer Center Designed by Patients, for Patients”.

Prior to joining the Cancer Service Line at Stanford Health Care, Katie worked as a Performance Improvement Consultant implementing Lean systems to increase patient value, business delivery and staff engagement. 

Katie received her MHA and Bachelor of Science degrees from Indiana University and started her career at IU Health where she impacted the patient experience through Lean process improvements.

Katie is the Past President of Women Health Care Executives (WHCE) whose mission is to Advance Women Who Advance Healthcare and is an active volunteer with the California Association of Healthcare Leaders (CAHL).

Katie was recognized with the CAHL Regent’s Award for her work as an Early Career Healthcare Leader in 2017 and with the Distinguished Service Award by the American College of Health Care Executives (ACHE) in 2018.

Outside of her role as a holistic leadership & wellness coach, Katie volunteers with Kara Grief Support where she serves as a group facilitator for children who have experienced the death of a parent and provides them the opportunity to grieve in a supportive and safe environment.

A few fun facts:

Katie is a huge San Francisco Giants fan, is on a competitive whaleboat rowing team and is a recent graduate of  the Institute for Integrative Nutrition as a certified health coach.
